Year of the Writer is a suite of masterclass series designed to assist any writer who is undertaking the enormous and dedicated task of writing a novel.
These masterclasses are exclusive to Queensland Writers Centre members. In 2010, Queensland Writers Centre is offering two strands of masterclasses: Year of the Novel and Year of the Edit.

Challenge yourself to complete the ultimate writing journey in Year of the Novel. Over five progressive workshops you will be inspired and challenged to overcome road blocks and, most importantly, to keep writing.
The first 10 pages will be read and feedback given by your tutor as your manuscript develops, and individual masterclass sessions focus on the writer’s guide to narrative structure, characterisation, developing voice and self-editing. QWC will set up an online group for your class so you can keep in touch, share milestones and give encouragement between classes.

When: Each masterclass runs from 10.00am until 4.30pm. Tea and coffee is provided by QWC, please BYO lunch.
Cost: The Year of the Writer series is exclusive to members and cost $595. A non-refundable $295 deposit is required to secure your booking with the balance to be paid no later than 14 days prior to the first masterclass.
