Queensland Premier's Literary Awards

2009 Winners

Australia's most exceptional literary talents, both well known and aspiring, were recognised at the 2009 Queensland Premier's Literary Awards shortlist announcement on Friday 21 August.

Some of the shortlisted authors include:

  • Nam Le for The Boat
  •  Jill Roe for Stella Miles Franklin
  • Kate Grenville for The Lieutenant
  • Robert Drewe for The Rip
  • Serhat Caradee for Cedar Boys
  • Felicity Packard for Underbelly – A Tale of Two Cities.

Last year's Emerging Queensland Author Manuscript winner, Amy Barker, won $20,000 and a publishing contract for her manuscript Omega Park. She launched her debut novel at this year's shortlist ceremony.

The winners of the Queensland Premier's Literary Awards will be announced at the State Library of Queensland on Tuesday 8 September.
