Belonging to a writers’ group is beneficial to your growth as a writer in many ways. You can become a part of a community where your passion is shared, your skills are developed and your creativity nurtured. By its definition, writing is a solitary past-time or profession—the isolation can be a set back when you are stuck for inspiration or need a second opinion and development of your work.
Writers groups can provide a support network as you develop and move from stage to stage with your work. They can also be a vital resource when you are ready to start the hard part—sending out your manuscript to publishers. You can also make friends with like-minded people who can boost your self-confidence.
